For Roku users that use Serviio as your home DLNA server, Serviio has released version 1.9, which contains four new Roku profiles. Because of the way the Roku advertises itself via DLNA, these new profiles are not automatically selected, and you must choose the profile manually..
Here is a breakdown of the previous and new profiles. Look here to determine what generation your Roku might be, although the Roku TVs are not covered in this chart.

'Roku Media Player': this is the original Serviio profile, and transcodes the vast majority of videos, sometimes to only reduce the video bitrate. This is the best profile to use for Generation 1-3, although some of the later Gen 3 models may be able to handle the video bitrates without reduction. You can test them with one of the new profiles.

'Roku TV': this profile was developed on a small 720p Insignia Roku TV. While in most cases the TV could handle the full bitstream, there were enough instances that a bitrate reduction was still applied. The larger Roku TVs most likely have more powerful Roku hardware and the bitrate reduction can likely be removed. Since all Roku TVs can play MPEG-2 video, these files (such as ripped DVDs) are played without transcoding. DTS audio is converted to Dolby Digital, as the TV cannot play DTS.

'Roku 4K TV': the same profile as the standard TV, except it plays H.265/4K material natively, and the bitrate is not controlled. DTS audio is still converted to DD.

'Roku 1080 Media Player (2016+)': This profile works with generation 4 and later, but as noted might also be useful for the later gen 3 boxes. The 2016 designation is just a guide for the different generations. It does not reduce bitrate for any material, and will allow native DTS and Dolby Digital to bitstream via HDMI or optical. DTS Master Audio will pass the code bitstream without requiring transcoding. Dolby TrueHD requires transcoding. Tested with a Roku 4 on a 1080 Panasonic plasma and Yamaha AVR.

'Roku 4K Media Player (2016+)': Same as the 1080 profile, but supports H.265/4K material natively. Tested with a Roku Ultra and Samsung JU7100 with a Yamaha AVR.

Note that all profiles except the original and TV profiles expect audio to go though HDMI/optical to a device that supports DD and DTS audio. If you are connecting your Roku directly to your TV, and it does not support DTS audio, you might have playback issues.
